How do the spices stick to the nuts? Egg whites! Feel free to switch up the nut mix to a combination you prefer, as long as it's 20 ounces in total.

Jamaican Jerk Spiced Nuts

Ingredients

  • 1 20 oz bag mixed nuts

  • 2 egg whites

  • 2 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp allspice

  • ½ tsp pepper

  • ¾ tsp crushed red pepper

  • ½ tsp nutmeg

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray and set aside.

  2. Mix all of the spices, garlic and onion powder, sugar, salt, and parsley for the jerk spice in a small bowl.

  3. Separately, froth the egg whites in a large bowl. Add the spices and the nuts, turn to coat.

  4. Arrange nuts on the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 20-22 minutes, stirring once. Let cool and serve.
