Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler

This easy peach cobbler is a delicious dessert that's sure to satisfy after a day of outdoor (or backyard) adventures. Cook over your campfire or over a grill, and serve à la mode!
Ingredients

2 cans peach pie filling
- 1 box of Yellow Cake mix (2 if using a 12” Dutch oven)
- 1 stick butter
- 1 can Sprite

Directions
Prepare your campfire or grill using briquettes or lump charcoal or set your oven to 375 degrees.
Oil your Dutch oven.
Open cans of peach pie filling and pour into bottom of Dutch oven.
Spread cake mix evenly over top of the filling.
Spread the pats of butter evenly over the cake mix.
Pour soda pop over the entire mixture.
- DO NOT STIR INGREDIENTS!
Place lid on top.
Briquettes
If using briquettes over a campfire, place 12-14 under the Dutch oven, and 14 on top of the lid.
- Bake for about 20 min. then rotate the Dutch oven half a turn, bake for another 20 min. And check the top of the cake. It should be a nice brown color and the filling will be bubbling through. If it isn’t, bake another 15 and check again.
Burch Barrel
- If using a Burch Barrel, place the Dutch oven directly on the coal pan for approx. 10 min. to activate the oven, then place under the coal pan for 10 min., placing the coal pan with the hot coals directly on the lid.
- Bake for 20 min., then check the top for a nice brown color.
- Bake for another 20 min. and check the cake. It should be a nice brown color and the filling will be bubbling through. If it isn’t, bake another 5 and check again.
Oven
- If using an oven, set to 375 degrees, and cook until the top is browned and the fruit is bubbling through, approx. 35-40 min.
- Remove, let sit for 10 minutes, and serve with your favorite ice cream.
